<p class="Paragraph">The subordinate designs which make up the slide design determine the way an object looks, including its background. The slide design can also be called a "Master Slide". In <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> Impress, you can assign a different slide design to each slide if you want.</p>

<p class="P2">Go to the slide that is to have a different Masterpage.</p>

<p class="P2">Select <span class="T1">Format - Styles - Slide Design...</span>. You will see the <span class="T1">Slide Design</span> dialog.</p>

<p class="P2">Click <span class="T1">Load...</span>. You will see the <span class="T1">Load Slide Design</span> dialog.</p>

<p class="P2">Select a new slide design on the dialog, e.g. from the area "Presentation Backgrounds" and confirm this with <span class="T1">OK</span>.</p>

<p class="P2">Notice the <span class="T1">Exchange background page</span> check box. If it has a check mark in it, the new slide design will apply to all pages of the current document. If it doesn't have a check mark in it, then it will only apply to the current slide. This gives you the flexibility to define a different slide design, and thus a different background, for example, for one single slide.</p>
